Most Christmas cardsend up in the bin- hopefully the recycling bin, but the bin nonetheless. It seems a terrible shame to let the Christmas wishes of friends and family go but most households don’t want to keep a big box of cards from year to year. There are, however, other purposes for old cards. Here are just a few of the options:-Once Christmas has passed, the most beautiful and treasured cards can be placed in a photo album alongside prints from the family get-together and the children’s pictures with Santa.-This year’s greeting cardscan be used to make cut-out tree decorations for next year. With simple scissors, string, and a hole-punch, kids can enjoy a craft activity that’ll keep them busy in the quiet time between Christmas and New Year. While the tree stays up they can redecorate it with their own designs.-Good quality card can be used to make other things. Young children can make toy robots, cars, and boats with old boxes and cards (both of which are common in most houses around this time of year) and decorate them with easy to clean acrylic paint. Older kids can try the art of origami. The designs on the cards will only add to the charm of the finished products.

-Kids and crafty adults can make all kinds of greeting cards into an attractive collage. This way a reminder from each card can be kept and turned into a work of art that all the family’s friends and loved ones made a small contribution to.
